DIPTERA, Misc. Orthorrhapha --  <Images> & <Juveniles>

Clausen (1940) noted that the families Blepharoceridae, Limnobiidae and Orphnephilidae are mostly aquatic in habit, with larvae feeding in part on minute organisms such as diatoms and on small Crustacea.  Adult Blepharoceridae feed extensively on midges and other small, soft-bodied insects.
