Post Doctoral Researcher
June 2006-current — Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Nematology, University of California at Riverside, CA, USA. Nematode taxonomist supported from several projects funded by federal government (Interactive and intelligent searching of biological images …; Training the next generation of nematode taxonomists...; Collaborative bioinventory of intertidal nematode meiofauna ...; Assembling the Tree Of Life: Phylum Nematoda ...) and the University of California (First exploration of nematode diversity in the Shipley-Skinner reserve). Main responsibilities included: collecting and processing samples form marine, fresh-water and soil nematodes; establishment and maintenance of nematode cultures; preparation of digital voucher specimens; identification of all groups of free-living nematodes (marine, fresh-water and terrestrial), identification and describing of nematode species belonging to the orders Plectida and Rhabditida, PCR protocols; performing morphology-bases and molecular phylogenetic analysis; preparation of identification keys and manuals; writing project proposals; publication of results in articles, books and reports. As a part of nematology team, participated in the Yellowstone National Park Bioblitz 2009, which was devoted to collecting and identifying of plants and animals of the national park.

Erasmus Mundus Scholar
April 2009-May 2006 — Erasmus Mundus Scholar for the “EUMAINE – European Master of Science in Nematology”, University of Jaén (Spain) and Gent University (Belgium). The work included
preparation of two identification manuals for the nematode order Plectida and superfamily Cephaloboidea respectively, to be used by the EUMAINE students during their research; research on marine nematodes from the collections of Marine Biology section of Gent University (Gent, Belgium) and Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (Brussels, Belgium).

Visiting Researcher
January 2006-March 2006 — Visiting Researcher at the Laboratory of Nematology, Department of Plant Sciences, Wageningen University, the Netherlands.Collaborated on the interpretation of molecular
phylogenetic hypothesis of the phylum Nematoda and on the future management of nomenclatorial database of free-living nematodes.

Assistant Professor
September 2005-May 2006 — Assistant professor (full time position) at the at the Department of Zoology, Biological Faculty, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine. Courses: “Invertebrate Zoology” (laboratory part), “Field practice on the Invertebrate Zoology in Ukrainian Carpathians” for junior students, “Lab classes in invertebrate zoology” for senior students. From May 2006 — on study leave for University of California, Riverside, USA.

June 2005-January 2006 — Ph. D. Student at the Laboratory of Nematology, Department of Plant Sciences, Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Ph. D. Thesis entitled “Morphology and Systematics of the Order Plectida Malakhov, 1982 (Nematoda)”.

Managing Editor
January 2005-May 2006 — managing editor of the “Visnyk of Lviv University, Biology Series” journal, which is published by the Biological faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Responsibilities: management of manuscripts, technical editing, communicating to authors, reviewers, editorial board and publisher, distribution of the journal.
