Lab Duties

Currently I am responsible for a mulch project on an avocado ranch in San Diego. This mulch project is in conjunction with a project in entomology dealing with insect infestation (White Fly) of the avocado trees. I am responsible for collecting soil samples from various trees and extracting the free living nematodes. Once they are extracted, I count the number of nematodes found in the samples, make slides, identify, and make video captures of nematodes which will be on the website later.
