BIOL 115. Human Genetics (4) Lecture, three hours; Discussion, one hour. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 102; and BCH 100 or BCH 110A or BCH 110HA. An introduction to human genetics. Topics include human gene organization, chromosome structure, chromosomal aberrations, patterns of single-gene inheritance, multifactorial disorders, developmental biology in medicine, cancer genetics, prenatal diagnosis, personalized health care, gene therapy, and ethical issues in medical genetics.
