Immature Stages
of Lonchaeidae
Detailed information on immature stages of Lonchaeidae is being acquired. However, Taylor (1929, 1930) reported that
the larvae of Lonchaea corticis Taylor are predaceous
on those of Pissodes strobi Peck and related
beetles. The eggs are laid in
clusters of 6-25 in the oviposition burrows of the beetles. Larvae are not restricted entirely animal
food but may also ingest frass, etc. References: Please refer to <biology.ref.htm>, [Additional references may be found at: MELVYL Library ] |
