IDENTIFICATION OF COMMON

GROUPS OF FUNGI

(Contacts)

The identification of fungi is a process that usually requires specialists.  Therefore, directing specimens to the proper authorities facilitates identification.  The following keys are designed to aid in the determination of taxonomic categories that may assist in the process.  Taxonomic groups are occasionally grouped into a new or different category, but most have remained intact over time.  However, specialists will recognize old or obolete groups, especially if locality and habitat information is available.
