and Legner (1973) in which a
detailed description of each genus and an illustration of a member of each
genus are given. The name Charhyphus Sharp in place of Trigites Handlirsch
is used here following Herman (1972a).
Herman pointed out that the members of the genus had some characters in
common with the genotype of Phloeocharis and consequently removed
the genus to Phloeocharinae. For purposes of identification, we are
retaining the genus in Piestinae
where it goes in our key to the subfamilies. Key to the Genera of Proteininae 1.
