near Lillooet, British Columbia. The letters read:
UI-H-M-UI = Irish ughaim =
"yoke" or "harness," Welsh iau, "a yoke," Cornish iou, etc. Translates to "The marriage bond." The ogam
script is in rebus form, to simulate a yoke, Ancient Irish dialect (Fell
1982). |
