Affective Communication Test (ACT)

Dr. Howard Friedman’s Affective Communication Test (ACT) is a measure or scale of personal charisma, as described popularly in Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point.

An improved version of the scale is currently available for business uses, along with consultation with Dr. Friedman. An adapted and shortened version is available for individual self-insight (see below).

If you are interested in using this test or its derivatives for business uses, sales, or training (including limited consultation on best use), please e-mail Dr. Friedman with a brief description of your organization and your needs or questions.

If you are an individual interested in self-insight about health, happiness, and social influence, a version is included in Dr. Friedman’s new book, THE LONGEVITY PROJECT: Surprising Discoveries for Health and Long Life from the Landmark Eight- Decade Study (Hudson Street Press, 2011; also available worldwide).

Malcolm Gladwell says The Longevity Project “uses one of the most famous studies in psychology to answer the question of who lives longest—and why. The answers will surprise you. This is an important—and deeply fascinating—book.”
