I got my B.S. in Botany at UCR in 1998. The summer before I graduated, I worked as an intern for the National Park Service at Olympic National Park in Washington, where I worked on a revegetation project, which is what helped me want to get my M.S. in that area. The last three years since graduating and starting back as a graduate student I've been working as an intern for California State Parks, doing vegetation monitoring, wildlife studies, exotic plant and animal control and some revegetation. On a personal note, I live in Chino Hills State Park with my husband, Gary, who is the park ranger there, and we have a dog, Lucy, who likes to run. We like doing lots of outdoor things: kayaking, hiking, backpacking , rock climbing, which we never have enough time for.
